Make the handoff gaps visible while the plan can still change
Use these ten review areas to organise the evidence, owners and open decisions behind a manufacturing transfer. Keep the worksheet alongside the receiving-site plan and integrated schedule.
An original planning worksheet from True North. It is not a compliance audit or an approval to transfer production. Apply the requirements and acceptance decisions of your program, customer and responsible technical teams.
YOUR REVIEW
0 of 10 areas assessed
10 areas await review. Confirmed items mean you have reviewed the supporting evidence; they do not constitute program approval.
Your selections, owners, dates and notes stay in this page. They are not sent to True North or saved between visits. Download your review before closing the tab.
01 / Baseline
Agree the transfer scope and configuration
Which parts, assemblies, variants and revisions move, and which remain at the current site?
Evidence to assembleAn agreed scope list, current drawings, BOM and an owner for changes after the baseline date.
01 / Baseline
Define acceptance evidence and decision owners
What evidence must the receiving team and customer review before each transfer milestone?
Evidence to assembleA milestone and evidence list with the responsible decision makers, review windows and open requirements.
02 / Receiving site
Confirm the manufacturing sequence
Do the receiving-site routings, work instructions and ERP records reflect the transferred configuration?
Evidence to assembleReviewed routings and work instructions, revision alignment and a named owner for data discrepancies.
02 / Receiving site
Check tooling, equipment and facilities
What must be available at the receiving site before trial work starts?
Evidence to assembleTooling and equipment lists, location and condition checks, installation needs and unresolved facility constraints.
02 / Receiving site
Protect training and review capacity
Who performs, checks and supports each operation, and when can the sending team transfer knowledge?
Evidence to assembleA role and training matrix, named specialists, attendance windows and the capacity reserved for reviews.
03 / Supply and handoff
Map material and supplier dependencies
Which materials, suppliers or outside processes can delay the receiving site?
Evidence to assembleLead-time assumptions, supplier commitments, inventory position and owners for unresolved dependencies.
03 / Supply and handoff
Plan the production bridge
How will demand be covered while work moves and the receiving site ramps?
Evidence to assembleAn agreed overlap or buffer plan, assumptions behind it and a response if trial or ramp milestones slip.
04 / Trial and ramp
Define the trial build and issue process
Which trial work will expose process gaps, and how will issues be recorded and resolved?
Evidence to assembleTrial scope, acceptance responsibilities, issue ownership and a retest or closure record where required.
04 / Trial and ramp
Sequence ramp milestones against capacity
Are target rates supported by productive hours, review availability and material flow?
Evidence to assembleA staged ramp plan with measured trial assumptions, capacity checks and clear decision points.
04 / Trial and ramp
Set the handover and escalation rhythm
Who owns open actions after transfer, and when must a risk reach program leadership?
Evidence to assembleA handover register, action owners and dates, reporting cadence and escalation thresholds.
Keep the reviewed version with the plan

USE IT IN THE PROGRAM REVIEW
Turn an open item into a decision with an owner
Agree what confirmed meansIdentify the evidence and the person responsible for accepting it. A completed worksheet alone is not the acceptance record.
Connect the item to a milestoneIdentify what depends on it, when the decision is needed and the consequence of delay. Keep those dependencies in the program schedule.
Revisit capacity during the rampInclude sending-site support, learning time, checking and issue resolution in the resource plan. Use the engineering capacity planner to make an initial hours scenario explicit.
Victor Romero’s manufacturing-transfer experience at Safran Cabin was gained in prior employment. This public worksheet is an original general planning resource, not a former employer’s process or a True North client case. Read the experience context.
Give the transfer team a shared planning view
Discuss the sending and receiving sites, proposed scope and milestones. We can assess the coordination work needed to clarify ownership, dependencies and the next decisions.
